Breaking news in Culver City! Starting April 1st, we will be changing our showroom’s opening hours.
Our newly revised hours will be:
Monday-Saturday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
This means there will be only one shift for the entire team, as opposed to the two that we presently have.
We’re currently open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and have two assigned shifts: 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The whole initiative came forward to provide better coverage for our customers on the floor, as well as to create a stronger opening and closing crew for our team.
Our group is really excited for the change. We all agree that it is a great business decision and will prove to be a success!
Working as a Design Associate gives you the power to make decisions based on your customer’s needs. This can be relevant to designing, selling or problem solving with them.
Occasionally it’s fun to bring another Design Associate in on the project to get an alternative view. We call this partnering.

Yesterday I took a call from one of our lovely customers. She had been working with a colleague of mine who helped her select a sleeper sofa, two swivel chairs and a rug.
However, today she needed some advice on a cocktail table that could work with the pieces she purchased.
So many questions to ask and so many options to choose from! Drawers or no drawers? Wood or glass? Stone or steel? Would she consider an ottoman or bench?
Since my colleague was off for the next couple of days and I hadn’t seen her space, I decided to send her multiple choices to look through.
The good news is that she has an easy palette to work with and the classic pieces allow for a number of different styles to fit in.
My hope is that she will visually connect with one of the images. Once she does, we can work on narrowing down the perfect finishes and an choosing an appropriate scale for the room.

My career background is one of many years working in hospitality. I’ve pretty much worked in every department of a hotel.
Some of my colleagues have work experience in the following: fashion, art, hairdressing, personal training, nursing, make-up artistry, flight attending, ceramics, life/health coaching, architecture and of course interior design.
We truly are a mixed bag! However, having a passion for design has brought us all to Room & Board.
